Pasquale, from Azienda Agricola Volpe, is the last beekeeper of San Mauro Cilento.
Through his hard work and daily dedication, he is a guardian of bees and therefore of biodiversity. Being an architect from education and profession, he educates people on the beauty of the social and architectural system of bees. He explains that these insects are better considered as a superorganism, and that there is no individuality in their family. Every bee serves the community, and acts for the common good. During his 20 years of experience, he passionately learnt that, through a social biomimicry approach, man could learn from bees how an organized functioning society works, how nature slowly selected the best fit for the local environment, how synergies really work, and how to use nature-based solutions to restore the environment while also providing good food for the people.
